Quick Helpful Tip for XP Users
System restore is a remedy device for solving XP problems. Sometimes the computer will only add restore points once every couple of days. It is a good idea to set restore points before changing any settings, or downloading and adding new programs. However, I also try to remember to add my own restore points once or twice a day when my computer is running smoothly. It has come in quite handy more than once. It only takes about 30 seconds. I label the restore points "OK." This way, should any problem arise, you will have a very recent restore point of when the computer was running well, and not worry about losing your settings.

System Restore has been proven to be unpredictable and unreliable. The following is a far more reliable alternative, IMO: -
