My girlfriend's laptop takes at least 15mins to start up. It's really annoying.

I assume there's too much irrelevant stuff trying to get going, but am not sure how to go about finding out what or how to stop it.......

Go to start Run... msconfig | Startup

You can uncheck everything although you probably want to leave your anti-virus starting.

On reboot you will be told you are in a diagnostic mode. Just check the box that says: "Don't show me this again."

Thankyou. I went into config, startup. Got a massive list of stuff. Now looking through it to see what I want and what I don't.
