I can't start windows it boots to the windows loading screen for about ten seconds and then turns to a black screen and freezes. I tried safe mode and using last known configurations and nothing. So I tried to reinstall winows and it says it cant detect a hard drive. So my question is how do i get my computer to reconize the hdd That I know is there and working properly. I know its working because in dos mode i can see all the files on my computer.

Is the drive detected by the BIOS?

Is it an IDE or SATA drive?

If the latter you need to load the drivers from the motherboard during the XP install at the F6 prompt.
