please help me! I cant see any thing on my screen except the wallpaper.
i have to start the programmes by opening the task manager(alt+ctrl+del).
mine is a windows xp with pentium 3, 190 mb RAM, 40-GB hard disk .

Start in Safe Mode options by pressing F8 after the BIOS POST and prior to XP starting.

Choose Safe Mode then choose System Restore and pick a date when things were working correctly.

when i did that, there is a message that the system restore is truned off.
will it be problem?

It might have been an easy fix but if it was turned off then it is turned off.

When you get everything sorted out you should turn it on.

What is the make and model of the computer?

What Recovery or XP CD's do you have?
