log on help
hi i`m running win xp and i only have one account set up on my computer.
as i am the only one who uses it.
the thing is when i start the pc up and it comes to the username/password page. i have to click on my name to be able to enter the password.
i never had to do this before.
i also saw somewhere while browsing my pc that i had two admin accounts and one guest account. is this rght?
please help me sort this out and talk me through what i have to do to rectify it. thankyou

XP has a built-in administrator account that most people never see.
Then there is the main or basic Administrator account which for most single users is their named account.
There is also a Guest account which it is best to disable.
So it is normal to have those three accounts plus .NET Framework adds an account: ASPNET
So four accounts plus whatever you add.
In XP Home the built in account is only visible and accessible in Safe Mode. In XP Pro it is accessible via either Ctrl + Alt + Delete or by using the Classic logon screen.
There are two ways to logon: The classic or the Welcome screen. If you see your name on a Welcome screen you are using the Welcome screen. If you see a logon box prompting for a name this is the classical view.
You can set these settings via Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on or off.

What did you try?
If you are getting the Welcome Screen and do not want it then uncheck Use the Welcome Screen under User accounts.
