when i boot my computer during the POST upon the reading of memory the computer stops the memory reads only upto 120 out of 256mb and stops i dont think anything is wrong with the memory but why cant it boot properly.
i have a Pentium 3, 256mb ram, 50gb hard-disk 10 - 40 seprate i also made changes to the motherboard switch configurations it had been workiong properly before but gave a fan error "the fan on the top rear of the motherboard is not connected or blocked" but after that i connected the fan to the motherboard and then the system stopped or froze during the boot process.

First off re-seat the RAM and see what happens.

If that doesn't help undo whatever you did and try that.
