Blue Desktop Background
HELP!!!!
Here's the rub, i can't change my desktop from its current blue to anything else.
In Display Properties,Desktop i cant select any of the listed files or browse.
I searched for the files and found them in
(C:\cmpnents\mediactr\i386\plus.cab), along with a lot of other files, applications, images and sounds.
Clicking on any of these files opens a prompt window, requesting I select a destination to extract the file to????? Of course I can do this but I guess I need to know why.
Also trying to set any other image as wallpaper is met with requests to save the file first, even after saving the file.
This maybe a bit long winded, I wanted to give as much info as I could.
Would be very grateful for any assistance.
Thanks
Richard

As to the wallpaper try this regedit:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...aperenable.reg
To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
All these symptoms are Malware or Virus targets so you might want to throughly scan your computer.
Other possible help:
Restore Luna Theme (Line 187)

Thanx for the heads-up. Whilst this fix did not work, it led me to search the Microsoft web site to find a solution.
Do ya wanna know what I did, well do ya.......?
I created a back-up of my register and a restore point for just-in-case and edited the registry deleting the values with Nodisp..... 5 values in total. Microsoft has a complete walk through on doing this.
All is Aok now, cheers
Signed a very happy
