My laptop which is a Toshiba Satalite Prop is nearly 3 years old. For a while now I have been having bin problems with it. Firstly it is extremly slow and I do not know why, it has loads of space on it so why is being so slow. It takes ages to load up and then for example the internet takes just as long after the computer has loaded. Then once the internet is running its hard to have more thant one window open at the same time without it freezing, same problem with msn. The other main problem is the laptop randomly turns off in the middle of things especially whilst listening to music or watching dvds. Oh ye and watching dvds is hard as its keeps stopping and starting. If you could advise me what to do with any of these problems I would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks
Basically sounds like heat and or your CPU running at 100% which will make more heat.
Open your Task Manager and note the CPU usage. If it is over 10% while you are doing nothing then see what process is using it.
If you right click an area of the lower task bar you get the menu to open the Task Manager.
Thanks so I have done that and yes the CPU usage is 100% it looks like the thing which is using the most is entitled "WinXPDisableZeroConfiguaration.exe" what shall i do now I think i need to end some of the processes but i dont have a clue wat they mean!
This appears to be the simplest solution from the many seen here:Open the Belkin Wireless networking software - it is some sort of
wireless manager - and disable it. Use the Windows Wireless networking
instead.
