HI, my son has a logitek webcam, XP os, 500 mb ram, ours works fine when talking to others. His freezes, goes slow and distorts the sound. BUT...When we use voices only and no webcam, there doesn't seem to be a problem. We think because his server, bigpond, has him on unlimited downloads at a cheap rate , they have him on the lowest speed, and this may be affecting sending the picture and voice together. He is new at the computer game, he may have to get less downloads but a faster speed. does any one else have any ideas as to what can cause this problem. hope you can help Cheers C:

Could be the ISP connection speed. Other things to consider:

CPU speed and type of Graphics Card.

Thanks Jephree, we will start with the provider speed, I know when we had dial-up, we had problems similar due to ISP speed, with your opinion much the same as our's we should nut it out. I am new to this site, and I will be definately be back.Thanks. C

The hardware and software of today require a good speed DSL or broadband cable/ satellite connection to perform as you would like.

Many ISP's offer different packages at obviously different prices depending on the line speed.

Again the amount of RAM; the size of the CPU; and also the Graphics Card used also fit into the equation.
