Hi guys,i have a problem with the windows XP sounds.
They don't play.
I have been into the control panel and they do not play.The error report i get is that my sound card may already be in use.

Does any of your audio work? Is this just system sounds?

Check these settings:

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Component Services > Services. Make sure audio is enabled.
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Windows Audio. Make sure "Windows Media" service is running. If it's not, right click on this service and select "start".
Start > Control Panel > Sounds (etc) and select a theme (Windows default is OK) -- or none of your sound hardware will work.

Audio that does work is all media player and game sounds,but not system sounds.
Windows message is;

Windows cannot play the sound%SystemRoot%\media\windowsXP Error.wav. Your sound card may be in use.
