Exclamation User account file access problem

This is a long story, but I had a problem where windows wouldn't load, and the repair installation wasn't working, so I di a new install over top of my existing install. I kept the existing file structure rather that reformatting because I had a bunch of files I wanted to save if possible. I was not aware that the user information would change ald all of the existing user accounts would become useless. Since then, I have fixed all of my programs and copied everything I can from the old user accounts. The problem is my 'My Pictures" folder from my old account was marked as "read-only" and now I can not access it to copy my pictures over to my new account. I also can not delete my old account because this folder is not accessable. Is there any way I can access these files, or log in under that user name so I don't lose all of my pictures of my kids? I'm getting desperate here! Please help!

If you ran a Clean Install I am surprised that you can see anything from the previous install.

Anyway do you see these folders but just have no access or can you not find the folders?

If they are there without access see the following:

If you cannot see the old folders and the data is critical to you then stop using the hard drive. The data can probably be retrieved on another computer slaving this drive but the more you use it the deeper the data gets buried.

If you could describe your current situation in a bit more detail we might have further ideas.
