Logon BSOD
Ugh...
I was in the middle of a virus scan and my computer decided to restart. Now when I turn it goes past the loading screen and I get a BSOD saying "Stop c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000022 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down."
My gut tells me that AVG quarantined one or more of my logon files.
Long story short, I no longer have a copy of windows xp pro sp2 which is currently installed. I do however have a "partial" installation of Windows XP home (included in my last hewlet packard purchase) on my spare hard drive and now I'm in desparate need to get my files off my other account (which is also on a different drive), but I get the access denied message...is there any way around this if I know the password or better yet, how can I fix my logon process?

Ok, belay my last. I DO have my copy of Windows XP Professional (hooray cleaning lady). I am trying to do an in-place restoration, but I don't get the option to Repair the installation, all I get in "CAUTION: A \WINDOWS folder already exists that may contain a windows installation. yadayadayaday existing Windows installation will be overwritten."
Now this is the part that gets me..."All files, subfolder, user accounts, applications, securit and desktop setting for that Windows installation will be deleted. The 'My Documents' folder may also be deleted".
And the options I have are:
Use the folder and delete the existing installation-push L
Use a different folder-ESC
or to quit.-F3
Wtf? This is a new one..in the past I have always gotten the option to press "R" to install over the current install. Will pushing L result in the deletion of all my files on my old desktop?
