    help: internal stack overflow..

    When i reformat my comp with ACER's recovery CD, it jammed at the menu with the msg:

    "An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be be halted. Change the stacks in your config.sys. file and then try again"

    My comp starts normally, games dont get that msg, only when i want to reformat my comp, it appears.

    From microsft's support.. they suggested to add these in the CONFIG.sys... which is located at my "C:\CONFIG.sys"... Initially it was empty.. but i added these from microsoft's help..

    STACKS=64,512
    FILES=60
    BUFFERS=40

    But it just didnt help.. i checked that when i restart the comp, the changes still remain... please do help me.. i cant even reformat my comp.. btw i've reformatted few times already with the ACER recovery CDs and it works in the past..

    But after i changed a graphic card, this is the 1st time reformat my comp.. i wonder if this affects.. i'm not very sure whats wrong... thanks for reading.. do help me please..

    i'm with Windows XP Home edition.. SP2..

    It could well be the caching on the graphics card.

    Put your old one back in for the re-install then switch them out after wards.

    Or if you do not have access to the old card try turning off Caching in your BIOS.
