My computer is infected with a virus which makes some programs freeze up when they load (Macromedia Suite, Itunes, WinRAR). I have put the original virus (Trojan Horse) in the AVG Virus Vault, but it does not seem to have stopped it. I cannot use Norton Goback to goback, either, because its "database is corrupted".

If I format the Hard Drive, and reinstall windows completely, will that cure my problem? Or could the virus continue to spread?

have you tried switching off system restore running all the anitvirus and mail ware programmes then empty virus vault then enabling system restore?

did not work... it has already infected things... the actual virus is gone, but the infected files are still there
