ive read through the forums and found some response to a problem similar to mine but the link wasnt active so i am asking again because im really stuck, my desktop picture wont show and it wont let me select one either, it comes up as im starting up my laptop but goes off again a couple of seconds later, ive tried changing it in properties but it wont let me

please help

Try:

Start > Run... and type:

regsvr32 /i shell32
and Enter
then
regsvr32 themeui
and Enter
then
exit
and Enter
then
Reboot the computer.
