Hi there, I have had this message twice. I have a new Toshiba laptop and I'm wondering if somone else may have had the same problem. It appears to be alright once I shut down and re-boot.
Should I go back to the store where I bought it? It's only a month old.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I would definitely return it and demand a flawless computer.

If they do not replace it but just repair or reinstall XP I would demand to know exactly what and why they did.

The error is indicating for whatever reason that your hard drive is not being found.

This could be so many things from a loose connection to faulty hardware.

Unless it is a BIOS error then it is most likely hardware of some sort so reinstalling XP is not going to really fix anything.

Just some ideas so you can ask questions etc.

Thank you so much for repling to my post. I've contacted the store where I prchased the pc and as usual got the run around.
I'll let you know how I make out.
