When I bring a floppy from my old WIN98 computer to read in XP, it tells me the floppy is not formatted and I can't get the files I was transferring, off.

What's that about, anyone....

Yes. I have had this experience with other computers as well. I took a floppy with some JPGs on it to Thailand a few months ago and it wouldn't work on the companys XP computers. Same message. They had an ME computer there on which it worked. Mine was ME then.

Transferring the data to XP formatted floppies sounds like a good try if you still have access to an ME or '98 machine.

Otherwise I see the one post re: DIR but I do not really understand the advise.
