    Print Screen in XP!

My previous Win Me would allow printscreen to function when using DOS programs which I find very useful. I loaded XP pro and find that printscreen button doesn't work on DOS.

This will be a real PITA as I know no other way of extracting a screenshot from this partic program.

    anyone..

    Hi Jeff.

I don't understand. The standard PrintScreen button just to the right (and above) of ENTER is the button I use. I have only ESC F1...F12 then Power Sleep Wake across the top.

The DOS window fills the screen so I hit PrintScreen then Windows button to return to windows. Normally I would open Paint but the paste function is turned off. I just tried Wordpad and the paste was on there but nothing was pasted.

It works fine if I'm not trying to capture a DOS screen.

The "Print Screen" key works for me. I opened a command window, did a "dir", then hit the Print Screen key. I then opened PAINT, clicked "New", then r-clicked in the new file and chose PASTE. I then saved as a jpg.

If your PAINT isn't working properly, I'd suggest reinstalling the program.

Are you running true/raw "DOS" as a vitual machine? Or are you calling the NTFS command window/prompt "DOS"?

    Hi Dan,

The program is accessed by a desktop MSDOS shortcut. It flashes through a half sized screen with the program location in the header to a full screen entry panel. Once open it takes up the whole screen with no window or frame. Paint does work in other programs but paste is turned off coming from this program carrying a printscreen. It worked fine in ME before.

To answer your question - I don't know. I simply installed the program in C drive, added a shortcut and expanded the mem (rt click on shortcut).

    Does that tell you?

    anyone...

Printscreen then to Paint , paste works for any but coming from the DOS program paste is turned off.

Paste From as the bottom option on the Paint EDIT menu is still on but doesn't give me a simple paste option only from a folder.

    anyone...

R-click on your shortcut for the Command Prompt and click Properties, Options. Change it from Full screen to Window.

Also make sure "Insert mode" is checked in the Edit Options area.

I notice on the MISC tab it shown Windows Shortcut keys with PrtSc ticked.
    Also Alt+PrtSc, and Ctrl+Esc,...... about 6.

    Could that be something?

Under PROGRAM tab it says Run: Normal Window
Under SCREEN tab it says under Usage Window is selected not Full Screen.

The program at start up goes momentarily through the regular 1/2 size DOS window then up to full screen entry page.
