My dog XP soundcard !

Hi Jephree,
Fresh now I turned on the computer and used the search function for files named "Jul". It returned 12 results and I started clicking on them until the silver disc showed up in the taskbar! WooHoo I thought. This is the panel I was missing, the mixer panel. So I tried RMAA only to find " this mode is not supported" so I checked - no modes supported!
I went to device manager and Julia and Julia Controller are in there. Went to Sounds and Audio Devices and it tells me there's no audio device.
Another day, another chapter in the Juli@ nightmare.

Well I will keep an eye out as I search around. I found this article:
http://www.homerecordingconnection.c...w_story&id=443
Not sure if it sheds any light on the installation.
I get the idea that you still have a conflict with your motherboard's audio.
-
Hi Jephree,
I'm thinking to uninstall and start fresh..
-
ESI does have drivers as well as e-mail support:
http://www.esi-pro.com/techsupport.php
With the card removed I would verify that both in the BIOS and the Device Manager that on-board audio is disabled and all drivers removed.
-
Will do Jephree, thanks.
BTW Can you tell me why my USB mouse wanders in XP. It was stable in Me.
It's hell doing PCB layouts in DOS.
-
How often does this happen? It happens to me maybe twice a year so I just ignore it. However many people complain of it. Any new drivers or software? Did this happen prior to the Juli@ install? This is sometimes a reaction to a driver conflict. Is it an optical mouse? Any mouse software?
This setting is often suggested:
Uncheck "Enhance pointer precision" under Pointer Options in Mouse Properties via Control Panel.

Hi Jephree,
Happens ALL day in most programs. Drifts to the left or to the top. If I go away it can sieze.
Reloaded the Julia and have now got the icon to open the mixer panel in the taskbar (btm rt). OK I thought - until I tried RMAA program -
Then I went to Device Mgr and noticed a yellow highlight against -
WDM Audio Device compatibility..
-
So here's is the message from Device Mgr -
-
Did the mouse problem pre-date the Juli@ issues?
Did you load the drivers from the ESI site?
There should not be any Microsoft drivers involved here unless that is just an indication that you disabled the on-board audio.
Again you might want to send ESI an e-mail.
If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Yes - the mouse seems to be more stable now, I did as you said. Thanks.
I have to restart after uninstalling that WINMM WDM.... thing. See if it helps.
