yes i got a reinstalltion cd microsoft windows xp home edition
service pack 1a. i did that but still there is no windows xp
on my computer. i can not burn cds. and i don't have all the
programs that come with xp. thank you

Take a look at this from Dell, a step by step guide to reinstalling Win XP,( last question in list) use the Suport Wizard and make sure you have all your drivers backed up or know where to get them. I'm not sure if Dell have drivers on a hidden partition like some comp companys
