Do you have XP Power Toys Installed on this computer?

You can check your file associations via:

start > Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types

    Hi misty,

Yes that's a start but not really enough.
Under File types look for HTA,HTM and HTML
    It should say:
HTA HTML Application opens with MS HTML host
HTM HTML File or Document (opens with IE or other browser)
HTML HTML File or Document (as above)

When you click the extension,it should tell you what it opens with.
I bet you,HTML is listed to open with "WORD".
Change to default, which is IE (Internet Explorer)
If you use another browser, select that one.
    Hope this is clear enough
BTW,the reason it opens in WORD is because you have it set as the default HTML editor.

I was going thru the File extenisons and I see html document that says open in Yahoo Browser, which is what is happening. What do I change , I assume the Yahoo browser is wrong, it probably got set that way when we got dsl. How can I change that and what do I do exactly, also will it affect/hurt other html programs??

Here's what it says when I click on HTML:
"Files with extension HTML are of type HTML document. To change settings that affect all html doc files click advanced"

Actually you don't have to change from the Yahoo browser.
Remember I mentioned IE or other browser?
    so that's not the problem.

To make sure.we're talking about the Powertoys HTML Slideshow right?
How do you start the slideshow?Details please

One thing you have to be aware of,is that you have to allow scripting and activeX to be able to run.
You should also get the yellow warning bar in the browser to tell you that the content of the file was blocked.
If you don't unblock it,you will not be able to run the slideshow and only the "Forward" and "Backward" buttons will show,so you can only advance (go back) manually.

    Hi,
Thanks for the quick response and info.
One more thing I just checked my folder options and Microsoft Word is set to open with DOCHTML
You might think that this would be the cause, but I just double-checked and my settings are exactly the same.
This does allow WORD to open an HTML document.

    OK,we'll try something else:
When you saved the slide show, the wizard creates by default a new folder in My Documents called My Slide Shows.
Go to that folder and you will see the folder My Slide Show or whatever you named it.
In that folder you will see at least 3 items-1 HTM file and 2 folders--html and images.
To make sure an HTM file opens with your browser,r-click on the htm file.
From the menu select "Open With".That should open the small panel with applications.Select Yahoo browser or similar and make sure to tick the box to always open with that application.
To cover everything also r-click the htm file again and select Properties. That should also say Opens with Yahoo browser.
    If not,click the Change button.
To test it,go back to the slideshow folder and click on "default.htm".That's how you start the slideshow and any others you may have saved. Each show is in their own folder.

    Hi,
    You're welcome.I'm glad it worked
    Just curious:
1.What did you want to edit? And how?
2.Do you use it to post on your website?

You can edit the script, but you can do that in NotePad or similar. But you should know HTML.
