    Hi,
Yes there is a "memory system".It's all in the Registry.
    However,don't worry about that now.

First, make sure your keyboard is set for your language and region.Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language settings.
If that is set OK,the next thing is to check if you have
    a utility for your keyboard.
Some keyboards come with a CD,regular or mini, that contains some drivers and a utility for keymapping.
Check the name on the keyboard and then check for it under Start > Programs.
    If not,there is another method:

The Resource Kit Tools for XP and Win 2003 contains a keyboard remapping tool (remapkey.exe)
However to get it,you have to download the Resource Kit
    http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...57/rktools.exe
I found this via a very useful site by Daniel Petri
    Related:http://www.petri.co.il/download_wind...skit_tools.htm
You may think that if you have XP SP2,that you would need the Resource Kit for that one,but it does not contain the "remapkey.exe".
So as indicated on the petri site, use the 2003 version.
After you install the Kit,look for Resource Tools and run remapkey.exe
    Hope this helps.

    Hi henny,
You're welcome.Like i said, after the install, look for Windows Resource Kit Tools under Start > All Programs.
If you just want to run the key remapping utility,go to Start > Run.Type in remapkey.exe ,OK or Enter and the keyboard remapping window comes up.
In the top part you can drag the keys as required and the change
shows up in the bottom section.
I'm curious as to what will show when you first run it
