thats right my right or left ctrl button doesnt work. it isnt the fact that my keyboard is broken but some thing else... what could i do to fix it? a while back it started working again for some reason cant remember what happened and then in a day or so it stopped working again. ANY IDEAS YOU COULD HELP ME??

could a windows repair installation do any thing??

Go to mouse properties in Control Panel and see if the CTRL key is set to show the position of the mouse cursor when pressed.

If so does this work?

Does this failure only happen with certain programs or always?

I see that Photoshop uses a switch-off of Ctrl for certain issues.

A Windows Repair Install should fix everything but at this point I would think it a bit of an extreme solution.

No it use to be on and off .. use to wok for a while and then not work again ... i was switching keyboards... the other 1 was wireless now doesnt work @ all dont know y... and no ctrl is off all the time ... so always not just in certain programs ... started of being off in cs:s, anoying as hell trying to crouch and not working

If you've installed any keyboard software I would suggest uninstalling it.

Also I would try another keyboard just to verify that the issue is not the keyboard itself.

Or try this keyboard on a different computer.

The only other issue that pops-up in general searches is that many softwares use the disable Ctrl key for unregistered versions of their software.

If the keyboard is the problem there is not much to do but try to clean it with canned air. Blow out any dust or debris between the keys and the circuit board.

What was up with the other keyboard (wireless)?

The more details we have the more ideas that might come up.

hey im too cool ... i tried to install my wireless keyboard again and i managed to get it working !! yes!! and my ctrl works with this ... might try the other keyboard and if the ctrl works abit later on ... i just dont wanan touch any thing right now
