can you help me scan my photos :o)
Please could someone help me?
My computer has been updated from a windows 98 to windows XP. I am trying to use my Plustek OpticPro U12 scanner (bought in 1999) and the computer warns me to find out if it is compatable to use with windows xp, or I could do irrepairable damage now or in the future to the computer. Could anyone tell me if it is safe to continue downloading the disc?
Thank you anticipation, from a complete novice!!

Are you downloading the driver from somewhere like here? http://scanners.free-driver-download...E-2000-XP.html Its usually perfectly safe to download and install it. XP loves to have everything authenticated for use with it. It won't harm your computer by installing new drivers for the scanner.

hiya, thank you so much for replying. I was trying to download from the setup/application CD which I got with the scanner a few years ago. It says on it . . this CD-ROM includes, scanner Setup Programme, Micrografx Picture, publisher 7.0, Xerox textbridge Classic, Action Manager 32, Scanners users guide. Then at the bottom of the the disc it says, for Windows 98 only. I have mislaid the user manual, when I moved last year
( do you still think it will be ok to carry on with the download? I'm just worried I might I might damage something. Thanks for your time

Ok you need to download new drivers for XP. The link here http://scanners.free-driver-download...E-2000-XP.html should be the correct one for your scanner.
Just download the file and it is usually an exe. Once its downloaded, click on it to install the new drivers. You may or may not have to reboot the computer, it should tell you.
