How do I install data
My operating system is Microsoft XP.
I have just purchased a new lap top and I have loaded word perfect into it, I have back-up CD discs contaning data from my table top and I want to load them in my lap top. how do I do that. step by step instructions would be much appreciated.

Exactly what type of data are we talking about? For example is it Word Perfect data or just files and folders in general?
The basic process is open (explore) the CD by right clicking it under My Computer. You should then see the list of files and folders.
Then Open the destination you seek such as My Documents (again right click and choose Open).
Resize the windows so that you can see both the CD list and My Documents (for example).
From here you can "drag and drop". If you just want to move the files or folders click and hold on the file or folder from the CD and then move the cursor to My Documents and unclick. This will move the file or folder.
If you wish to move all the files or folders Select All (Ctrl + A) and the on the lift menu choose Move selected.
If you just want to Copy rather than Move then do the Drag and drop with a Right Click and you will have the option of Move or Copy.
