Wondering why you didn't point out these issues to Neal in your HijackThis thread?

He might see something if he knew your issues.

    This is what I wrote....

I'm also having problems with my yahoo msngr & aim. An alert box comes up in the bottom right corner saying that they are corrupt. And that C:/$MFT is corrupt. Also it says Windows - Corrupt sometimes.... And it won't let me save pictures on my computer or add websites to my favorites.

If I reboot the computer it will work again for awhile... Any ideas?

He sent me to the XP forum....

    Try chkdsk /f again.

You also might want to run a diagnostic on your hard drive.

Most manufacturers offer diagnostics on their web sites.

You should see your manufacturer under the Device Manager > Disk Drives

    start Run... devmgmt.msc

    .

Also taking SP2 and all Critical Windows Updates would be a good idea.

I have SP1 so I'm going to do that update, if that doesn't help I'll do the HD diagnostic.
