Computer freezes at Win Xp logo screen

hey guys, need a bit of help because Im kinda stumpped on this one .

Basically I have a computer that starts up normally. (it gives that bios beep sound, everything loads until I get a screen with 5 options.

    safe mode
    safe mode w.network
    safe mode w.command prompt

    last known good config
    and

    start windows normally

all 5 yield the same results which is a frozen xp logo screen.

I have also tried using norton GO bacK, but still the same thing,

so my last result was using the windows xp disk and doing a system repair.

but when I put the cd it. it loads fine..untill it says

Setup is loading windows. (then it just sits there like a bump on a log)

The other problem is since this is a newer computer, (and floppy disks are becoming slowly obsolete) i cant make a boot disk or recovery disk to a floppy. (unless there is a way to make a boot disk on cd?)

anyways any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!!

    lol hmm..

well my computer is fixed.. what did i do..??..nothing LOL

i restarted my computer, and i went downstairs and played with my dog, got distracted on a few things for about a good 30 mins. and i was like oo i should start working on computer again. so when I got back up I saw a windows screen saver, and was like hmm...how did that happen?? anyways it brought me to my windows log on which i was succcessfully able to log on to, I just rebooted and its loading up fine

I just love when problems work themselves out :P

Thanks for the update and glad it's working now!

Sometimes these machines become as temperamental and mysterious as ourselves! :scatter:

Let us know if we can help further in the future.
