yes i was wondering if there was any way possible to record Sounds off of my sound card. My older Compaq allowed me to do it with the "recording controls" and "sound Recorder" but my new laptop has no such controls anymore. Any adivce will be helpful. Thank you.

So you do not have sound recorder? What OS are you using? Sound Recorder in XP is found under start/all programs/accessories/entertainment/sound recorder.
