OK, this is for the moment, the biggest mistery in the universe to me:
(these are my laptop's symptoms)

-When I start it, only my background picture is displayed, no menu nor the usual programs that run automaticaly start.
-I pressed control+alt+delete, but the computer's performance was at 100%. And there were only 22 processes.
-I tried starting a new task, typing in 'explorer.exe' but that only slowed down my computer dramaticaly.
-So i deleted the explorer.exe process and the performance dropped down to liek 15%
-lately ive been getting a lot of pop-ups, thats how I got a hold of the web browser...

I don't know how to solve this, Ive tried restarting my computer a number of times, and I don't have access to the control panel because the menu does not display.. PLEASE, IF SOMEONE COULD HELP!

If this is an XP machine and this is a new problem try a System Restore to a date prior to the problem.

You can run system restore from the task manager via File Run New Task:

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe


You appear to have a Malware infection which hopefully system restore can reverse.

If you can still access the system running a HijackThis log and posting it in that section

would be a next step short of reinstalling your operating system.

however..

I tried that, and i rebooted back to the 31st, and it restarted and all, but I still have the same problem....now I dont know how to do the hjtl...

Can you boot into Safe Mode?


After the power-on and BIOS POST or your Logo screen repeatedly tap the F8 key or hold the Ctrl key before Windows starts.

OK, i am now on 'safe mode with network' (safe mode did not allow me to have an internet connection), and other than the poor pixel display, this is working great (START menu and everything)..so what can I do now? (as I post this I am still on safe mode)

Try to download HijackThis.

I, myself, am not trained in reading these logs but will pass on the link to those that are.

You have some obvious infections in that log but again I must defer to the Professional readers on this.

Please be patient. Hopefully someone will respond within the day.
