CPU Info: Toshiba Satelite P25-S607 WinXP SP2

I was recently downloading an overly large torrent of about 20 GB when my hard drive overheated and I kept getting the blue screen of death. I finally recovered my cpu from the blue screen and stopped my attempts to download the torrent and removed it from my hard driver, per say.

Since then, I have been experiencing no issues w/the blue screen of death, but I now cannot use any audio programs, e.g. media center, vlc, real player, etc., as my sounds and audio devices folder gives me a no audio device found. I figured this was only a drivers issue, but the opening windows theme plays w/o issues and whenever I annoy the cpu by pressing buttons too quickly or the same button too many times in a row.

The other issue that began occuring after I overheated the hard drive was that my wireless network started failing. At first, I ran through the tcp/ip settings thinking that I had messed something up w/my lan and if I released/renewed all would be fine and I power cycled the cable modem and router. It finally dawned on me to view my local wireless networks to see if there was something wrong there. Gee wow, if I had only gone there first. It now gives me the message:

Windows cannot configure this wireless connection
If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software.
If you want Windows to configure this wireless connection, start the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. For information about starting the WZC service, see article 871122 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the microsoft.com Web site.

This only appears to happen after I have left the hsi connection live for more than 5 hours or if I leave the computer on for more than 10 hours at a time. I then restart and I can connect w/the wireless connection again, although when I view the wireless networks it still gives me the message listed above.

And gee golly, I went to the website and reviewed their article Not surprisingly when I did what the article asked me to, it frankly did not work, as everything was configured as it should be.
What do ya'll think, is the hard drive hosed and needs to be replaced or should I reinstall Windows?
