Hi

My husbands memory stick has all his projects on it for University. When we connect it to the computer it brings up a a message " Do you want to format this device?" He cannot get to his files & when he clicks on properties the Memory stick shows no data on it.

Is there anyway of getting to the missing files? I have searched the net but cannot find this problem listed.

Any help will be gratly appreciated.

Hi Val,

I have had this happen, and have tried many free programs that did not work, in the end I successfully downloaded a trial version of "Undelete", and it recovered almost all my files; at least 99.5% of them.

I am not sure if they have a free trial still, but I highly recommend this program and know it works.

Please tell you husband not to place that memory stick in and click "format"....and best to not put it in at all until you are actually trying to get back data.
