    Smile Monitor help

My mother in law automatically upgraded windows onher pc. When she did the moitor started flickering then it would appear to go blank.....the green light never goes off or flickers. She hooked a old monitor to her pc and things are fine I have her old one now seeing what the problem is. I have it hooked to mine and it is doing it every few minutes, Sometimes it will stay on for a full 5 minuter sometimes for only a minute or 2. But if you shine a light on the monitor you can see what you are working on very faintly and you can even conitue working....yiu can just barely see everyhting. If you turn the monitor off and back on it comes back for a minute or 2. SOmeone told me that hte graohics drivers just need to be re installed. I was wondering if this could be the reason or is it probably the moitor going bad. She had a tech come to her house and he said that it is in hibernation and to buy a new one. But i checked and it is not set to hibernate. I just though that it seemed odd that it happened as soon as she upgraded windows. Thanks for any help! I am taking the monitor back tomorrow and going to play with it and see if there is any help for it. Any suggestion would be GREAT!!
    TIA

Are you both useing the same version of Windows, if so which one, what did she upgrade from, the graphics driver may not be the one for the OS you are useing. Have you checked Device Manager to see if yellow question mark showing anywhere, I would update the graphics card driver.

    Hope this helps

One easy thing to try, do a System Restore to before the upgrades were installed, it does sometimes correct the problem

    Cheers
