Standby Problem

    Standby Problem

    Ok have Dell latitude c640 laptop. Under the power options in the part : "when i close the lid of my computer" the only option is NOTHING and typicaly you can pick STANDBY. and when you go to START then shutdown the option to click on STANDBY is shaded and will not let you click on it...so does any one know how to change the opions to be able to use standby when you shut the lid???? cus right now when you close the lid and open it again it just stays black and forces you to press the power button and shut it down cus you cant see anything...ok any ideas on getting standby to work???? thanks...

    Take a look at this from Dell, it appears to have something to do with the sleep button http://support.euro.dell.com/support...D64&l=en&s=dhs

    nope, I can not select stand by from that drop down list, thanks though...

    See if you can change the Sleep function on the Advanced tab, set to Do nothing and see if the option to select Standby becomes available.
