problems after reformating and reinstalling windows

i have reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows and am having problems connecting to the interent. i went in to device manager and it showed me a list of other devices that had yellow question marks on them among them are: ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, network controller, pci modem, video controller (vga compatible). how do i get the computer to accept these peices of hard ware.
i tried to update drivers but i dont have a connection to the internet i thought this might be because the ethernet controller isnt working but i have a wireless card so it shouldnt be that.
also how can i get my wireless card working again i dont think i have the cd that came with it.
    thanks

You'll need to download the driver elsewhere, and burn it to a CD or a floppy. You can normally go to the manufacturer's (network card's) website and download it for free there.

The drivers might be on the XP disk you used to reformat. Go back to device manager, click on one of the missing drivers and follow the instructions to install from a disk. Let it search your XP disk for the drivers.

    Get Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
free programe. Copy to disc or floppy and install on comp with problems, run, it will give clues to the make and model or the motherboard, then you can get the drivers. One point, if this is an Intel you will need the Chipset driver, this tells Windows which files to load.

    Hope this helps

Like T_D_D said, you need to install Belarc advisor to get all the info on your hardware. Once you know what make/model of components you have a simple google search should bring some results in for the drivers

thanks but i already fixed that part. i have my internet working but i still have yellow question marks over ethernet controller, multimedia auido controller, and video controller (vga compatible)
if i try to update it says that it can not find a better match then what is there. how do i fix this i did not update these driver succfuly yet due to this problem.

also im trying to get files off of another computer by running an ethernet cable between them and making a small network i know how to set it up and have done it before but now when i try it tells me i might not have permission to share files is this because of the ethernet controller problem? if not please guve suggestions.
    thanks
