When i delete files or folders they do not directly go to the recyling bin, and windows media cannot run properly. It seems like a virus removed some direct X components including qasf.dll. and a few more .dll files. So when i try to download the missing .dll files i can't seem to zip them to my computer any other method of saving them on the comoputer? it says i cannot copy file or source to disk.... any help please.
Reinstall DirectX. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
it wont install, half way there it just closes.... strange huh![]()
Try going to:
start - run
and typing:
Note the space after sfc between the slash.Code:sfc /scannow
That will do a complete file scan of your system and attempt to restore any missing files.
aight i tried sfc /scannow, i thought it was gunna work but it asked me to put in my xp cd rom and said that it is an invalid cd??!!
how can this be ? this was the cd i used to reinstall it with...
Is your original disk SP1? Have you upgraded to SP2 since the original installation? I had this happen once and it was due to SP2. There is a registry tweak the will point sfc to look in the directory where your "up to date" .dll's are. I cannot remember this tweak..........I hope someone comes along who does. It "could" be your problem, and it might not be, but the Recycle bin dll's are system files, and sfc should fix that.Originally Posted by Qrazi3BoO
