Sorry I meant program. I'm so tired of this computer I can't think straight. Anyway I didn't put the space in and have the program running right now.

If this does not work i would say that your install of XP is just 'old'. Every time we install/ uninstall a program, our registry has information added or registry values changed. Over time this can lead to an unstable computer and a reformat is needed :?
If it doesn't work and if nobody else has any ideas, i would go ahead with a Repair Install.
That should clear up every problem you might have and also speed your computer up in the process 8)
You 'shouldn't' lose any data (although i always recommend backups) at all except for Microsoft Updates. You will need to visit Microsoft and install them again :?
I tried to download the Msicuu2.exe again, but got the same message. This computer is really old and slow and has to much stuff on it. Usually my family (father, mother, and sister) uses this computer for Ebay, Microsoft Office, plus my brother uses it to download whatever he finds. My parents did make me block LimeWire from my brother. (Hopefully there will be no more problems like this.) I hate this computer, thats why I use the Windows XP Compaq. Now I have to go on a hunt to find the XP CD. Thank you for your help. :notworthy: Don't be surprised if you see another forum from me about this computer.
Thanks Again!
It's our pleasure jlcndc

I done the repair that I was told to do, but I am still having problems installing and uninstalling programs! Is there anything else I could do, or is this computer shot? :idunno:
The computer almost certainly isn't shot jlcndc. However, the repair install should have worked :?
The only thing i can think of now is to completely wipe your hard drive and re-install the operating system from scratch.
If you decide to do this you will lose ALL your data from your computer so be sure you make backups of anything you want to keep.
The easiest way to do this is to simply insert your XP disk and follow the instructions on screen to install.
You can always just install a new Windows in a different directory, or overwriting the existing one just losing all of your preferences but keeping the data intact.
Yes, it should have worked, but there is an instance where it doesn't, and it displays this problem.Originally Posted by Vidster
A corrupt registry. Beyond redemption. Save All Data and reformat. It's the only way, and seriously, it is going to be better once done.
Good Luck!![]()
I am about to through this computer out the window, but I will give it a try. So where do I start in reformating (or do I have to go in the reapir thing again?)
