    Unknown Program

Ive got a program that keeps popping up on my startup list that wont go away and has no use I can find. The name is "chic dumb.exe". I use WinpatrolPlus as a startup manager and i've had it remove it after startup many times and it keeps coming back. I use Norton antivirus that updates the virus definitions every day and does a scan every week, and I use ad-aware SE Plus. Neither one of them can find it. Dpes anybody know what this file is and what it does and how to remove it?

    Hiya Punchin

Have you tried removing it with HJT (hijack this)?
For peace of mind you might be better posting a HJT log in the HJT forum

get rid of the messenger plus program it installs spyware such as lop(which you have) then delete the reg key and reboot and see what happens...

Jazzman, I believe you hit the nail on the head.. I uninstalled just the sponsor program and winpatrol had to block chic dumb form being added 3 more times before it finally gave up..

If I totally uninstall msn plus, I wont be able to tell who all my msn contacts are.. :P

Small price to pay to keep my comp clean.. I only talk to a small handfull anyway.

    -edit-
IT WONT COME OFF!!! uninstalled it totaly, and deleted registry key.. it still wont leave me alone.. now when I restart my comp, it tells me it's not installed properly and I need to re-download it. Also, MsgPlus.exe, MsgPlus Loader.dll, and Chic Dum.exe keep trying to reinstate themselves.. It's a constant battle of clicking no on winpatrol to keep it from adding them back to the startup menu..

The Winpatrol website claims that the msgplus.exe and msgplus loader.dll are safe.. but why do they keep coming back like a swarm of locust eating up my time?!?!?! It has no records of chic dum though. Man, just the name of that program tells you it aint officially sanctioned..

run hijackthis and make a note of the registry key locations of those entries you mentioned. post the complete path to the entries here and i will see if they are safe to delete, but wont be able to do it till tomorrow night.
