Hi I have had a sound lag problem on my computer for atleast a month and was hoping some one could help me with it.
I have a dell dimension 8400 with a gig of ram and 3 gig pantium 4. nvida geforce 6800 256mb video card. Im not sure exactly what type of sound card I have but it should be the standard sound card on the 8400.
Some times I have audio lag when my computer isnt doing anything or when Im working on it. It is not constant some times the sound is fine other times if Im listening to music I have to turn it off because it sounds awful. I have noticed though if Im playing a game and listening to any type of music at the same time its fine. But any other time it may or may not lag.

What program do you use to play your music with? If none, try iTunes.

Have you tried updating your sound drivers?

it dosent matter what program i use to play music i have tried switching. ive used itunes, windows media player real player and some others
