XP reinstall disc not reading Hard Drive
Here's the problem: About 2 weeks ago my MB crapped out so I purchased a new Asus MB. Because the MB were diff. I had to completely format and reinstall windows on my hard drive. I saved my info and formatted my WD740 Raptor drive. The MB reads that the drive is physically there in BIOS, but when I run the Setup Wizard with my reinstall disc, and press ENTER to install windows, It says that No mass storage devices could be found. The disc I used is the same disc I used to install it 1.5 years ago when my old HD died and I purchased the Raptor drive. My disc is clean and is a legal disc for my now "modified" Dell. What am I missing? Although I'm not a NOOB, I am extremely baffled and could use someone's help please!

Hi,
Are you loading the Sata drivers when you start the OS? You need to get them on a floppy and load them by tapping F6 when your OS begins to load. Then let them load when the install starts.
Was your old disk a Sata? Are these the restore disks or OS disks that you have from Dell?
Post back with questions or concerns.

My floppy drive is not connected, but I did try the F6 fix with my driver CD........Obviously it didn't work cause it kept asking for a disk in drive A:.........That's a good thought....I'm gonna try and let you know........What about the driver itself........Where should I find it?
THANKS for responding, JESSE

Hi,
Go to this link and find the utility for your drive manufacurer's website. Most of them include this on their utility:
