Windows XP Shuts Down By Itself.

    my computer started shutting down by itself whenever i'm online and coming back up ,but i have to restart whatever i'm working on.what could be causing that to happen?

    Not to sure what you mean, is it the Internet that shuts down and comes back on, or does the computer shut down completly and restart itself. Are you getting any error messages to signify a problem, if it is the internet does it happen after a period of inactivity. What browser are you useing, which OS Home or Professional.

    Try doing a virus scan.

    if a whole windows coming up saying that your computer is goin to shut down in x amout of secs that is a virus!

    Mine does the same thing, sometimes when i'm sleeping and have nothing running. But lately i've had a problem with a game I installed.. I installed Battlefield 2 on my computer, and everytime I try to fire it up, my comp restarts right after the loading screen. Anybody know why? I meet or beat all requirements for the game.

    I checked for updated drivers, but none wher available. I read the readme file for the game and my vid card was listed in the supported column..

    ok, got my problem figured out.. my vid cards were cinflicting.. was runnign dual monitors using 2 vid cards.. shut the PCI one down and it runs on the AGP one fine.
