mozilla and explorer
I downloaded mozilla and was preparing to delete explorer when I realized that I can not do certain things with mozilla that i can with explorer. For example: when I go to the bbc radio 1 website, I can not play it with mozilla, but with explorer I can. It uses realplayer and realplayer is installed on my computer so it shouldn't matter which browser I am using. Also, my computer has started to slow down. Is there a conflict when using both explorer and mozilla at the same time?

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Glad to see that you're using an alternative browser! Is this Mozilla, or Mozilla Firefox? One of the very first things that you don't want to do is remove Internet Explorer, you need this to update Windows XP, so keep it there to update. When you go to the site, do you get a message about software that is needed to install on Mozilla/Firefox? If so, make sure to let it install. If not, any error message(s)? What's happening etc.
Not unless they are both running, for the speed. Have you ran any spyware scans lately? Spybot, Ad-aware etc? If not, be sure and do so!
Hopefully that helps.

when using mozilla and trying to get multimedia items such as radio stream or past shows, it says I need to install real or plugins for real. I personally am used to microsoft media player and prefer it to real. It seems like you have more manual options with media player. I have both and they seem to conflict. Real works fine on explorer but seems to be lacking on mozilla. :?:

Go through the wizard on Firefox to get the plugins installed then it should work perfectly

Hiya jdigiulio
When you get the message to install missing plugins there should be a new bar appear at the top of the screen. This bar will say something like "Install Missing Plugins" or "Firefox Has Prevented This Website From Installing Missing Plugins. To Install Click Here".
Click on the bar and Firefox will look for updates for Real Player and install them.
Sometimes there is an icon to click on the website too. It will just say "Plugin". Click on the icon to install the plugin.
To change the media player:
Go to start and click on 'set program access and defaults'. If it is not there click on Control Panel, then ADD/Remove Programs, then on the left there will be the icon for 'set program access and defaults'.
Click on it and click on the arrows opposite the word 'Custom'. Scroll down to where it says 'Choose a default media player'. Uncheck Real player and place a check in the Windows Media Player box.
That will hopefully make WMP the default media player. Some content might not work with Windows Media Player though
[EDIT] Darn that Tyler's speedy typing :axe:
