Well the perishing driver is greyed out in Sound& Audio devices, and ASUS doesn't show the mobo as haveing any sound card installed, so I recon each maker puts his own PCI sound card in and without the comp maker I'm stuck. I'ts driving me nuts

Try Everest home edition TDD It's freeware and it logs each driver (as well as many other things). It also gives a link to any driver update sites

It's a P3B-F rev 1 slot 1 been all over the site, checked the manual no onboard sound shown and the only download is for the BIOS, which frankly I don't have the confidence to mess with. This is not for me, I have a custom build, if I can get the IBM make and model I can at least find out which sound card they use and get an update.Checked with IBM as to where information is shown on machine just waiting now for confirmation.

I'd just put a Soundblaster PCI card in it and go from there.
