There's the main suspect for me Sixty. I would try uninstalling 'Snortin' Norton completely (easier said than done), then try again.Originally Posted by Sixty
You may need to go to Norton's web site for the removal tool. Install AVG7 (free) anti virus and Sygate Personal Firewall.
Eheh... ahem (>_>) I guess my brain's not working very quickly... I'm not usually this unperceptive...Originally Posted by jazzman
Anywho, I did such, and still a no go. *sigh*
EDIT: Typed too slow, currently trying what Vidster said....
check the solutions on the symantec link i posted, you will most likely have to edit the registry to delete all mention of Norton...if the solution on the symantec link doesnt workOriginally Posted by Sixty

I still have a Norton process in my Add/Remove programs and nothing i do will remove it :? I wouldn't mind but i have never used it and never will
Er, I was working backwards, so, I did Vidster's first. It would appear that that's all I needed to do in the first place was get rid of Norton Firewall... although, it's still most excellent that I freed up, like, nearly 5 gigs of space... so, Sygate Personal Firewall is good?
sygate is good and so is the free version of outpost, though sygate is more configurable..can you access secure sites now? Make sure and reboot after all the steps...Originally Posted by Sixty
I can, 'tis all fixed. (^_^) *hugs all around* Danke schön, y'all, for puttin' up with me.
Another x at the side of 'Snortin' Norton
Glad your all fixed up Sixty
PS. Make sure you install and update AVG7 and Sygate as soon as possible.
