I have just bought a new laptop, and WinXP SP2 is installed. I removed all the rubbish, and then activated, ect. All is fine.
They gave me a recovery disk, but it has no i386 folder, so how do I ever do a clean install, or can I legally use my other XP disk, but use my second activation code that came with the laptop? Totally confused as to legality issues. I have legally paid for two codes, do I have to use both disks? Can I use one code for one PC, and other code for Laptop, but same disk?:roll:

I'd call who ever it is that you bought the PC from. If it someone like HP, dell they will be able to answer that easily and should be able to supply you with instructions on how to do a reinstall.

Yes you can use the 1 disk for both puters. You paid for 2 legal licences. Just use the correct licence for the right puter.
