Most of the time, yes. But depending on your RAM, you can get it [inst]too[/inst] big! Here is a good reading:

Did you manually set your page file yet, or is it still Window's default?

I would do it yourself, it does improve performance.

I have mine set at roughly 2 1/2 times the amount of RAM i have installed. I doubt any more would be beneficial :?

I set mine to 1.5 X,s the amount of Ram on a FAT32 drive...on the puters with one gig of Ram..i dont run a Pagefile at all...marked improvement in speed..

A tip I was once given was to set your min and max paging file size the same and have it roughly double the size of your RAM. Having it the same size apparently reduces fragmentation (and hence speeds up read speeds).

I agree..and i forgot to mention that..but only on FAT32 systems ..NTFS is fairly immune to fragmentation..
