Heyaz guys, this is my 1st post here on the forum.

1st of all, here are my pc specs : Asus P4S800D,P4 2.8Ghz Prescott,512Mb Ram ddr400 and 2 120gb hdds.

About a month ago or so, I started having this weird sound problem, that all of a sudden, only one of the speakers played and the other was silent.Even when running only msn or so, it beeps once, it plays on both speakers, but on the 2nd beep, it plays only the right speaker, and so on alternating...I've just formatted my comp hoping it would solve my problem, but it still remains =| OH yeah, I'm running Windows Xp with Sp2 in it, and using the onboard soundcard (SoundMax)
Any1 have any clues on how to solve this ? Already reinstalled every sound driver and codec possible =|

i had the very same problem a week or two ago i tried every thing in the end i just moved the speaker not working and i had sound agian i found that the speaker lead was cracking inside the casing and when you moved it it would sometimes make contact and give me sound hope this helps

Thks for the reply, but the speaker aren't the problem =| I tried it out with a couple of headphones that I had, and it still happened.Weirdly enough, the whole sound problem seems to be gone now, and I didn't change a single thing :S Very strange :S
