strange wake up call ???

    Question strange wake up call ???

    I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND BROUGHT MY PC OUT OF SLEEP MODE......LOGGED INTO WINDOWS......ALL I SAW WAS MY BACKGROUND PICTURE AND MY TASKBAR WAS GONE NOTHING WOULD RESPOND , THEN AN ERROR WINDOW CAME UP AND SAID SOMETHING LIKE THIS "dwwin dll.exe initialization failed" CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I AM RUNNING XP SP2. :throw: BEFORE THIS HAPPENS LOL :rofl:

    Try reading this, Chopper. But like Jazz has inferred, we really need more info. Is there an error in your event viewer?

    WHERE DO I FIND THIS EVENT VIEWER? NOT TO SURE BUT YES JAZZ I AM PRETTY SURE THAT WAS THE WAY THE ERROR WENT....

    Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer.

    Or->Start->Programs->Administrative tools.

    If you don't have the admin tools enabled to show where I have stated, then right click on start, properties, and customize your start menu to show the Admin Tools.

    The .dll part is confusing me. The .exe is DrWatson......:???:

    Keep posting. There has to be an answer.

    OK VIKTORIA FORGET THE DLL PART OF IT......I LOOKED IN DR.WATSON THERE WAS SOME APPLICATION ERRORS WITH EXPLORER AND Y MESSENGER.......BUT WHAT I CANT UNDERSTAND IS WHY MY SCREEN WAS LIKE THAT WHEN I LOGGED INTO WINDOWS NON-RESPONSIVE?? AND IN THE EVENT VIEWER IT SHOWED THE SAME.....THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE WEIRD THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I DID THE UPDATE FROM MICROSOFT ON TUESDAY. :???:

    We're your program icons missing from your desktop too?. It sounds like Windows Explorer may have crashed and not re-started itself. My desktop computer used to do it all the time . I doubt it is anything to worry about though ;-).

    THANKS VIDSTER I THOUGHT SO...BUT IT WAS STRANGE HOW IT HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN BUT EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE IN ORDER NOW.......SEE HOW IT GOES
