When i have any problems like this i always find the best thing to do is uninstall the device completely (in this case your keyboard and mouse). Then you should be able to reinstall the software from your installation cd.

well I uninstalled all logitech useing add/remove programes. then tried to install software again and the computer froze. i did't mention but I have ad-watch on my system which I have to allow to install anything. I tried ctrl-alt-del but the keyboard would not work. used restart button on tower to get into safe mode, no good keyboard not working. used another wireless keyboard and mouse ( logitech mx700 ) this worked. At the moment useing keyboard and mouse with win hid drivers reluctant to try reinstall. Do I need a bluetooth pci card installed. Thanks for your prompt replies.

I am sorry for the questions. But did you try to reinstall the windows drivers using the other keyboard? Did you try again installing the software ending all of the process you don't need?

I would agree with Tyler. I would also end all programs i did not need, including antivirus and spyware programs before trying to reinstall.
Did you have the device manager before?, if so, when did you loose it and did you install any software that may have caused this problem?. Also, have you considered a system restore?.

update, followed your advice, stopped norton, ad-watch, spywareblaster unistalled all logitech, then disconnected and reconnected hardware, software installed ok but at restart the logitech came on said it was searching for devices and to wait a few minutes. 20 mins later still searching. On thing I did notice a warning from Microsoft that the hardware was not compatable and may not function correctley. Well that did it I'd had enough, went back got a refund and bought a basic keyboard, I had another MX700 wireless mouse, thats what i'm useing now. didn't have this problem untill after sp2 installed and the techie at the store said it was probulary sp2 causing the problem
Yet nothing on Logitech's web site to warn you or advice about updates.

    Thanks for your help.

I have the Logitech MX700 Duo With Windows SP2. What is your problem? I don't have the software installed at this moment but whenever I can get a chance I will get to it.

If it is a new range they may not even know about sp2 conflicts, although you would have thought that a company as big as Logitech would have tested for this type of thing. It is a bit disturbing to think they did not have any support on their website though  .
It's a pity we could not get your keyboard working but at least now you are up and running .

    Happy typing TDD :-D
