Outlook Express [very slow]

    Digressing from your issue, it's far safer to use web-based email as opposed to using Outlook or OE, IMO. Also, ensure that the Preview Pane utility is disabled, in addition to utilising a quality AntiVirus and Firewall, properly configured and up-to-date at all times.

    However, at the end of the day, it's your decision. Good luck..........

    Hi Bounty. I'm a fellow Canuck. I used Shaw for years and recently switched to Telus. You do not need to use Outlook because of your internet service provider. Any email client will work. With Shaw, if you are not using a router all you need to do is type "shawmail" without the quotes for smtp and pop servers. If you are using a router you will need to find the proper shaw address in their website dependant upon where you live. The list is below. Foxmail, thunderbird, pegasus, phoenix, opera m2, and mozilla suite are all excellent clients. Foxmail is my fave.
