My daughter has a Dell Dimension 2650 desktop running XP. She's had it for several years. Its still trucking, but it runs really slow. Also when on IE on the internet, she cannot type a website address in directly on the URL line or it locks up. She has to click the Google button, type in the web address in the search box then click on it to get there.
Anyway, I was wondering if I really needed to do a re-install or if there is another way to speed it up and get all the "crapola" off it that is probably bogging it down. The reason I'm asking is that I can't find the Windows installation CD. I have all the driver/resource/system software CDs but not one that says Windows. :-( Thanks.

Thanks. I've done most of the stuff it mentions there, but I'll try the registry cleaners. :-)
